My Thoughts:
"Embrace the Race" is the perfect devotional for any runner. As a marathon runner, this book is perfect for those who are looking to be physically fed, but also spiritually. It is a devotional that I found to be helpful in motivation when I didn't feel like exercising, but also inspiring whether you're a runner who has ran your first 5k race or your 10th marathon. It doesn't matter whether you're a novice runner or an Olympic runner, this devotional is for you! I loved the "Ready, Get Set, Go" challenges in this devotional. Each devotional starts out with a Bible verse, followed by some kind of running analogy that has depth and meaning to it as it relates to the Christian life. What I love is that it calls the runner to application, which is what runners do. They apply things to their life, or they wouldn't be out running. I love how transparent Lisa is about her running and when she often refers to herself as being in the "back of the pack," I often think of myself that way too. I think we would be running together, and we all are running this race together as Christians. Thank you to the author for providing a complimentary copy. A favorable review was not required. I give this devotional 5/5 stars.
