Abiding Mercy (Amish Mercies #1) by Ruth Reid

Abiding Mercy (Amish Mercies #1)

by
When doing the right thing will only lead to more heartache, how do you know what you are supposed to do?

Sixteen-year-old Faith has worked full time in her parents' Amish restaurant since she finished eighth grade. She loves her Amish community--and the recent romantic attentions of her longtime friend, Gideon. When her sister seems to be getting too friendly with Englischers, and her parents are in a buggy accident, Faith only wants to escape into her dream of joining the church and getting married.

But then a local newspaper runs a story about a child named Adriana who was kidnapped fifteen years earlier, and everything Faith has held true comes into question.

Suddenly the community Faith has known her whole life seems unreal. Can she even trust her own family? And how will she ever find home again if she no longer belongs in the world she knows best?

My Thoughts:
In Abiding Mercy by Ruth Reid, the reader will enjoy this book as it lends itself two different story lines. One story line is through the Amish lens and the other side is through the English lens. The premise of this storyline centers around Adrianna Colepepper and Faith Pinkham.
This story is about a kidnapping event that happened and a child was then dropped off to an Amish family. Then we see Faith who never dreams of leaving the Amish faith, but then will she fall in love with Gideon? Will she leave the Amish community or will Gideon keep her in the amish faith? Will the kidnapping that took place be resolved by the police or will years go by with no results? The mystery and faith in this book is incredible! This book will having you turning the pages as you are reading a mystery, life lessons and a story on life. I could not stop reading this book and it kept me up super late because I wanted to see how it ended.
I received Abiding Mercy by Ruth Reid compliments of Thomas Nelson. I give this book 5/5 stars. This is a book not to miss this summer! Grab a copy and read bring it to the beach. You'll read this book super fast because you won't be able to put it down. Make sure you purchase you won't be sorry. This is first book in the Amish Mercies series.
