Eat Beautiful Food and Recipes to Nourish Your Skin from the Inside Out by Wendy Rowe

Eat Beautiful

Food and Recipes to Nourish Your Skin from the Inside Out

by Wendy Rowe

Care for your body from the inside out with this cookbook that highlights ingredients and recipes designed to make your skin glow.

After more than 20 years of experience as a makeup artist and beauty consultant, Wendy Rowe’s approach is uncomplicated and holistic. In Eat Beautiful, she details how specific ingredients feed your skin, offering breakdowns of the vitamins and nutrients they provide. They include:
· Pomegranate: The Elixir of Youth packed with Vitamin C, which stimulates collagen production to keep skin looking taut, young, and radiant.
· Spinach: The Free-Radical Fighter whose iron moves your blood, helping to repair your skin cells.
· Chili Peppers: The Circulation Booster famous for its capsaicin, which reduces blood pressure and improves circulation by encouraging blood vessels to relax and dilate, therefore acting as an anti-inflammatory.
· Natural Red Wine: The Youth Potion featuring a powerful anti-ageing antioxidant that slows the grown of acne-causing bacteria and fights disease-causing free radicals.
Rowe’s recipes showcase these essential foods to help target specific skin problems and alleviate common complaints. She even provides specific advice for what to incorporate or avoid depending on skin type.
Here, too, are suggestions on how to pamper yourself with recipes for homemade masks, scrubs, mists, cleansers, and toners, as well as an informative section for troubleshooting those confidence-sapping skin problems. Organized into the four seasons, you can dip in and out of this stunning cookbook, or follow it as a plan. Either way, it ensures beautiful, radiant skin all year round.

My Thoughts:
"Eat Beautiful" by Wendy Rowe is a beautiful book. Simply put. It is broken down into sections for every season, which makes this book so wonderfully organized. You can gain some much useful knowledge and information in a short time from reading one recipe on how to better take care of your body and skin. Some of the ingredients are a little far fetched, but with time, I can see that this will become a lifestyle change for better skin and an over all healthier person! This is a must book for anyone who wants to learn how to better take care of their body and skin. It is worth every single penny! I highly recommend this book not only for its education, but for its beauty! I give this 5/5 stars and was not required to write a favorable review by the publishers.

My Thoughts:
This is a beautiful study Bible that you can't go wrong purchasing if you love the KJV translation Bible. If you want to study God's word to a whole new meaning and deeper level, with Greek and Hebrew. translations, I highly recommend taking a look at this Bible. It will give you a start at learning the Bible in a different way. However, if you are an advanced in your knowledge and or study of the Bible, you may find that this one does not suit you. Personally, I love the look and feel of this Bible. It feels very durable and long lasting. I also love that it lays flat. My only knock against it, I don't like that it is a study Bible, which is what I thought it would be. This Bible is more of a word study Bible than anything. All in all, a great Bible! I give this 4/5 stars and was not require to write a positive review by the publisher.

Control Girl by Shannon Popkin

Control Girl by Shannon Popkin is a great book that immediately grabbed my attention and heart. How many of us struggle with control issues? Immediately raises hand! This book will not make you feel alone, and yes, it makes you feel so human. Know that other women have been dealing with the same issues since the beginning of time, but you don't have to keep living this way either. There is victory, and you can find it in the freedom of Christ! I just love this book. I love how Shannon walks us through seven different accounts of women in the Bible who have struggled with the same thing.

She does a great job at entertaining the reader but also providing truth, which is a careful balance. The book is light-hearted but vulnerable, powerful and really asks the reader to look inside themselves and to their maker. It's brilliant, really! I found this book easy to read, enjoyable and I wasn't stressed out thinking "these are all my weaknesses or things I need to change." The book had an ease to it and made me walking away with the idea that these are things I need to let God work inside of me!

I think you will love this book! As a debut author, I cannot wait to read more from Shannon Popkin! As someone who writes in a Biblical based manner, it is something I can get on board with. Thank you to the publisher for providing a copy. A favorable review was not required. I give this book 5/5 stars! Purchase a copy today. You won't be sorry to start this Bible study!

Chasing Slow by Erin Lochner

Chasing Slow by Erin Lochner
You’re here, but you want to be there. So you spend your life narrowing this divide, and you call this your race, your journey, your path. You live your days tightening your boot straps, wiping the sweat from your brow, chasing undiscovered happiness just around the bend. Higher! Faster! Better! Stronger!
And on and on you run.
Viral sensation and star Erin Loechner knows about the chase. Before turning 30, she'd built a fan base of one million women worldwide and earned the title “The Nicest Girl Online” as she was praised for her authentic voice and effortless style. The New York Times applauded her, her friends and church admired her, and her husband and baby adored her.
She had arrived at the ultimate destination.
So why did she feel so lost?
In Chasing Slow, Erin turns away from fast and fame and frenzy. Follow along as she blazes the trail toward a new-fashioned lifestyle—one that will refresh your perspective, renew your priorities, and shift your focus to the journey that matters most. Through a series of steep climbs—her husband's brain tumor, bankruptcy, family loss, and public criticism—Erin learns just how much strength it takes to surrender it all, and to veer right into grace.
Life's answers are not always hidden where they seem. It's time to venture off the beaten path to see that we’ve already been given everything we need. We've already arrived.
You see?

You'll see.

My Thoughts:
Open up a one of a kind book. Literally. This book doesn't feel like any other book I have ever read before. The book itself has this beautiful hardcover with pages that look and feel like a coffee table book, but it is much smaller. It has exquisite pictures that capture the eye and will keep you engaged along with lists, questions and things to ponder in your heart on the side. This isn't your typical book, which I love! Erin did an excellent job thinking outside of the box, something she is known for and she excuted it well in this fantastic book about her life.
I had never heard of her or her story from HGTV, her blog, etc. I found her to be fascinating and I loved her writing style. This book reminds me of her diary, mixed with blog posts, home ideas, recipes, life advice and so much more. I love that each chapter you don't want you're going to get from her, but you know that you will pause and learn to slow down as you read the pages. I learned the most about myself as I was reading through the pages of her moving back in with her in-laws. I think this book is fantastic. I give this book 5/5 stars. I was not required to give a favorable review.

The Christmas Secret by Wanda E. Brunstetter

Photo provided by Publisher
If you have never read a book by Wanda Brunstetter, let me the first to recommend one of her books. I love each and every single one of them for one reason or another. She is an excellent writer and always has a unique gift for storytelling.
I finally had the opportunity to finish "The Christmas Secret," which has been sitting on my shelf along with a pile of books that I have meant to give you reviews on, but I wanted to get you this review out right away because I simply loved it!

Don't let the title of Christmas throw you off from this book. I feel like this book was meant for me to read it after Christmas. This year the Lord gave me the verse "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding," which is the basis of this novella.

Elizabeth Canning is anticipating her Christmas Eve wedding
and marriage to Davis Stinner until she comes across her Aunt's
secret diary.   The diary continues secrets of the past that make

her deeply hurt and sadden. She uncovers a hidden family secret that will ruin everything if she doesn't leave town. In order to escape the answer, and not wind up broken hearted, she goes to live with her grandparents. Will David try to come after her and find out what this family secret is all about? Will her best friend Helen muddle this whole thing up or will she be a part of this secret that will forever ruin Elizabeth's friendship? To find out, purchase a copy of "The Christmas Secret." You will be glad you did! I give this book 5/5 stars. A favorable review was not required. Head to Amazon to purchase your own copy.

Seven Mile Miracle: Steven Furtick

His Final Words Are Your New Beginning
It s Good Friday. The Son of God is giving up his life. What does he want to say to us in His final hours? What does He tell the people standing at the foot of the cross, to pass down to the ages? He speaks only seven short statements. Words of forgiveness, salvation, relationship, abandonment, distress, triumph, and reunion. Seven statements that mean everything.
In Seven-Mile Miracle, Pastor Steven Furtick shows us how Jesus s last words offer mile markers for our journey in relationship with God. It s a lifelong journey and it s not always easy. But Jesus is both our guide and our destination as we travel. Put your feet on a proven path the road that Jesus walked.

Includes questions for reflection and a forty-day reading guide to Jesus s death and resurrection.
A Proven Path for Spiritual Growth

From time to time we all feel stuck in our relationship with God and frustrated by life s setbacks. Jesus faced what could have been the ultimate defeat on the cross. Yet he emerged triumphant through his relationship with his heavenly Father. And he showed us the way so that we could do the same.
In Seven-Mile Miracle, Steven Furtick explores how Jesus s seven last statements on the cross offer a proven spiritual growth path for us. You will experience the Easter message more personally than ever before as you engage the words of forgiveness, salvation, relationship, abandonment, distress, triumph, reunion.
After all, we are not simply believers people who have put our faith in Jesus. We are not simply disciples pupils who learn from him. We are called to be followers of Christ. This is your opportunity to follow Jesus through his death, and move forward in his resurrection power, starting now."

My Thoughts:

This book is a powerful book that will help you refute any lies you've been believing in your life or things that have been holding you back. The world will try to distract you, the enemy will distract, but Steven Furtick reminds us that God always looks at our heart. God is always pulling us towards Himself, so we can be more life him. This book will point you back to Christ. It will have you remembering why you fell in love with him, who he is as your Savior and it will help you fix your eyes on the things of eternity, not earthly.

If you like listening to Furtick online or through social media, you will love the way he engages the reader. I really enjoyed this book and think it is the work the read. I give this book 4/5 stars. Thank you to the publisher for providing me a complimentary copy for review. I did not need to provide a positive review to receive this book.

Destined To Win How to Embrace Your God-Given Identity and Realize Your Kingdom Purpose by Kris Volloton

Destined To Win How to Embrace Your God-Given Identity and Realize Your Kingdom Purpose by Kris Volloton
Pastor and cofounder of the Bethel School of Ministry Kris Vallotton walks Christians through the profound process of discovering their true identity and experiencing the wonder of their kingdom purposes.
Christians are often told that they were born with a purpose that reaches beyond their human strivings, but most are not sure how to break past the daily struggles holding them back, much less how to fully step into their callings.
As a pastor and the cofounder of the Bethel School of Ministry, Kris Vallotton has been teaching Christians all over the world how to walk in wholeness and purpose for more than seventeen years. In Destined to Win, he passes on the lessons that will help readers discover who they really are, overcome destructive behaviors, and become equipped for their kingdom purposes.
Confronting the challenges that limit Christians—such as living shackled by past pain, fear, and unforgiveness—Vallotton offers practical solutions to the often-complex problems that undermine their destinies and derail their purposes. With personal stories and biblical teaching, Destined to Win combines practical wisdom and profound revelation to unlock the latent potential present in each person.
My Thoughts:
Initially, I had a difficult time getting engaged in this book. I felt it was a bit dry at the beginning, but once I got reading, I found this book to be challenging and yet to be encouraging. It is a very practical read, with wisdom and is perfect for the person who is willing to look at themselves and willing to grow. I found this book to point out behaviors in my life where I could grow and move forward. We all have things in our lives that we want to get rid of and I found that this book helped point out areas where I want to grow and how Christ can help me grow in those areas. I also think this book is very kingdom minded, which helps the reader keep Christ in mind to not think you can make changes on your own, but only through Christ. I found this book to be an encouragement in my walk and challenge areas in my faith. Thank you to the publisher, I was not required to give a favorable review. I give this book 4/5 stars.

Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould

My Thoughts:

Amish Weddings by Leslie Gould is the third book in the Neighbors of Lancaster County series. While I have not read the rest of the series, this book is well written and can be read as a stand alone novel. I do want to read the first two books in this series, but it is not necessary to understand what is going on with Lila and Zane.  I think it would help to understand the characters and the rest of their background, but again, it isn't necessary.

Lila and Zane are going to be married in October. Rose who is Lila's sister has been dating a young made named Reuben Byler. She was hoping she would get married before Lila, her sister. Lila is in a terrible buggy accident and as a result suffers some serious damage. She ruptures her spleen, has bruised organs and even has a broken pelvis. As Lila begins to recover, she begins to think of her birth father, Butch. She begins to doubt that Tim does not care about her the way he cares for Rose and Trudy his birth children. Lila and Zane's wedding is post-poned. Rose has to help Lila against her own will. And then Rose begins to get into a little mischief of her own as Tim is distracted. Lots of things begin to unfold for this family. If I tell you anymore, I would give away what happens to the story, so I am just going to tell you that you need to read the book!

Overall, I found this book to be engaging and I wanted to see how everything was going to turn out, whether for the good or the bad. If you want to find out what happens to the story and want an opportunity to read it, I recommend purchasing a copy! I give this book a 4/5 stars. I loved the authors ability to capture my attention and I thought the story line was good. I found it easy to read and it had a good pace to the story. I was provided a copy for review purposes and a favorable review was not required.  I look forward to reading more books my Leslie Gould in the future.

Nothing to Prove by Jennie Allen

More Pretending. No More Performing. No More Fighting to Prove Yourself.

Are you tired, inside and out? Are you trying your best to measure up—yet you still feel as if you’re losing ground and missing out on the best parts of life?
You are not alone.
Jennie Allen understands the daily struggle so many of us face with inadequacy and insecurity and the fear that we are not enough. And she invites us into a different experience, one in which our souls overflow with contentment and joy. In Nothing to Prove she calls us to…

* Find freedom from self-induced pressure by admitting we’re not enough—but Jesus is.
* Stop doing things for God, and start doing things with Him.
* Admit our greatest needs and watch them be filled by the only One who can meet them.
* Discover how God moves wildly through those who have nothing to protect and nothing to prove.
* Make it our goal to know and love Jesus, then watch what He does in and through us.
As you wade into the refreshing truth of the more-than-enough life Jesus offers, you’ll experience the joyous freedom that comes to those who are determined to discover what God can do through a soul completely in love with Him.

Discover the answer to your soul-deep thirst
Too many of us have bought into the lie that our cravings will be satisfied if we are enough and if we have enough. So we chase image, answers, things, and people—and we wonder all the while, Why am I still thirsty?
My single goal with this book is to lead your thirsty soul to the only source of lasting fulfillment: Jesus. He is the living water, a limitless supply that will not only quench your thirst but will fill you and then come pouring out of you into a thirsty world.
Because of Him, you are loved. You are known. You can take a deep breath.
Because you have nothing to prove.

My Thoughts:

Let me just say, you need to pre-order this book! If you don't you will be missing something from your life that is so greatly needed in our world today. This isn't just a book, but a lifestyle. Do you ever feel like your chasing something and you keep chasing something only to find you're more empty? Do you ever feel like you're trying to prove that you are worth something? Or worthy of something? Do you have these moments where you wonder if you are believing a lie? Like the world is constantly spinning and you're spinning with it, but not finding the true bread and and living water? Then you've come to to the right place! "Nothing to Prove" by Jennie Allen dives right into the book of John where we find these beautiful moments of Jesus dealing with people's souls and changing their future. We seeing him freeing them of disease, shame, fear, all so we can look at our sitiuation to trust Jesus. We must stop. Stop striving. Stop proving. Stop moving. We must just be. Be in His presence. We must be willing to stop being something we are not. This book will just make you take a look at your life and wonder where the broken pieces are and where you need to let Jesus in. I loved this book and have it highlighted! I am so thankful to have recieved an ARC copy. Thank you to publishers for sending me copy. I give this book 5/5 stars. I was not compensated for a positive review.
