Kate Darby swerves off the road to avoid hitting a California Condor, which leads her to being scared and trapped in her car. Luckily, Nick Sheridan comes to her rescue. However, this love story doesn't come together immediately. Nick is a Christian who is on a dating sabbatical and Kate is not a Christian, which makes things very complicated. Kate moves from LA and takes time off from her marketing job to help Leona who has recently suffered from a stroke. Leona is the only family Kate has left and she can't bare the thought of something happening to her, so she goes to help her with the local newspaper along with Nick. Nick throughout the story leads by example on how to be a Godly man despite his humanly flaws. In the end, Kate goes back to her old job as she struggles between her faith, Nick and trying to figure out who's in charge of her life. Will she realize that only God is in control? Will her and Nick end up together?
From start to finish, I read this book in 2.5 hours . Perfect novel for the beach or a road trip.
