I've decided to go with a new form of running because my knees just hurt. I'm going to try out minimalist running. It's a totally new style of running for me and it's going to be really slow. I'm excited to start this new challenge, but I know I have to re-train my entire form and it's going to be completely mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting, but I'm ready.
So, I went to the running store and got me fitted for a pair of shoes to help me with my form!
So I'm giving it a go. Only a .5 mile as my long run! Pfft! I'll keep ya posted!
Q: Would you try this style for less knee pain?

I really hope this does the trick for you! That's basically what I did a little over a year ago when I switched to Newtons. Not totally minimal but neutral with a much lower drop. I was nailing the midfoot strike until all hell broke out at the end of the year. Now, I get my race pics from Gazelle today and see I'm back to heel striking. I'm so mad I could spit.
I hoping it does it for me too. I hoping it gets rid of PF. A lot of people I've read about have done this and haven't turned back. It's gonna be awful to start a half a mile at a time, but it's better than having bad form. Sorry about your heel strike, that's my issue. I'm done. I'm not training for anything right now, so I'm just going to take the time and do it right. My body will thank me later. Right?
