Bound with a Promise

I had the privilege and opportunity to read Bound to a Promise written by Bonnie Floyd. Upon Reading this, you cannot even begin to fathom or imagine the horrrific experience this woman has gone through to understand why her parents were murdered.

At Six o'clock in the morning, Bonnie received a phone call that changed her entire life. Bonnie was told that her stepmother and father had been murdered in their sleep on a Yacht off the shore of Antigua.

Bonnie begins the book by wiring her her life as child, her parents divorce, her fathers remarriage and marrying the man of her dreams. Bonnie and Donnie are Christians and in the last six months before Bonnie's father and stepmother were murded, they did everything to share Christ. Her father promise Bonnie he would call on the name of Jesus if he ever was in a position where his life was endangered.

Bonnie's father and step mother were on a yacht off the coast of Antigua when three young men boarded the yacht and took over the ship. They were tied up, gagged and were shot.

I promise this ends on a redemptive note. I usually am not interetested in books with crime, but this is such a good story of forgiveness and redemption, you can't help but fall in love with Gods grace and mercy.

As Bonnie goes to court, she begins to understand what happened the night her parents were murdered and learns of their motives. This story ends with a twist as Bonnie feels led to meet with one of the attackers, despite that the odds are stacked against her, especially with the laws and culture.

Eventually, this attacker, becomes someone she claims as family. This book is very detailed, has pictures and even smartcodes for additional information.

Although I was skeptical, my heart was completely turned towards foreignness through the pain and grief Bonnie experienced. It also shows the healing power of forgiveness and how everyone can receive salvation despite of ones actions. I love it. I recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with forgiveness or has a bitter hard.

I want to thank B&B Media for a complimentary copy for a review. I was not compensated for a positive review.
