2013 Goals

Happy 2013! I think the best part of a new year is the chance to start over and do it again. Forgive more, love more, share more and become a better human. As I look back at 2012, I am reminded that it was the year my health limitations did not define me.

As I go forward looking at 2013, I have several goals in mind for this year. They say the best way to make goals are SMART GOALS.. Making these kind of goals, will point one more in the direction of success because it is specific, measurable and has a time limit.. I liked this idea for goals. I have written each of my goals in a journal with measurable means.. The post would be too long if I included them in here.. However, I thought if you were looking to obtain some goals, you might like this..

{Running}

My #1 goal is to finish the Walt Disney Marathon!! I want to finish the whole thing. I have read several stories of people not being able to finish because of time.. While, we have run 20 miles, I have not ran the full 26 and I wonder what that will be like.. It makes me nervous! I want to finish this darn thing! Until you train for a marathon, you don't realize the hours and Saturdays you spend training for one!

{Riverbank} Last year I shaved off 15 minute from my previous time! This year, would like it under 3 hours! 

{Health}

Weight I really would like to lose 25 pounds this year. I need to lose it. As much running as I have been doing, I continue to keep weight off, but I am not losing much, which is frustrating. I need to lose the weight and keep it off. Goal date: July 1, 2013

Sugar I love candy. It is one thing that I struggle to give up..  As my church begins a Daniel fast, I will be doing my best to give up sugar for 21 days. I don't really like pop, just candy.

Salt I love all things salty. Crackers, chips, munchies. I am going to need to cut down this area too..

{Finances}

Pay off two large medical bills from 2012.

Pay off 1 student loan.

Pay off half of Drew's Car

Start saving $ for a house. 

{Travel}

1) Visit a Christmas Story House in Ohio!

{Other Stuff}

Bible: I would like to read the entire Bible in 1 year. Every year I set out to do this and every year I get halfway through, stop, give up and get discouraged. I can do this! I believe this would help me grow closer to God.

God Size DreamerI have the opportunity to dream with other women about the dreams God has placed in our hearts. I am excited to be on this team and exploring the dream God has for my life... Even though, I have no clue what it is..


 Finish my 101 in 1001 goals: It ends this year! I have 49/101 in to go! Every goal not finished = $1 to St. Judes Research Hospital


These are my 2013 goals! I have a lot of them and a lot to accomplish this year. All of these goals will lead me to a happier, healthier and more hopeful self. I am excited to see many of these goals come to completion. Whether these goals come to pass or I cross some items off my bucket list, my goal is to just enjoy life and live it to the fullest. I hope 2013 proves to be the best year for you!

I ran across your blog as I was researching SMART goals. I was drawn in by your pics/smile and enjoyed the read. I ran Disney before I had my daughters and would love to return. It is such an amazing experience! I know you will love it! My favorite part was the run through the castle and the surprise ending at Epcot :) I love chatting with people about health and fitness!!! Best wishes on achieving your 2013 goals!!! What kind of training program are you doing?
