The Storm with a Thyroidectomy

As you may remember in previous posts, I mentioned having a tumor (goiter) on my thyroid. Recently, it has become very painful and I have had a difficult time with this little bugger.

Thursday, I went to the doctor and he is recommending a partial Thyroidectomy, which is the removal of all or part of your thyroid gland. Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of your neck. It produces hormones that regulate every aspect of your metabolism, from your heart rate to how quickly you burn calories.

Thyroidectomy is used to treat thyroid disorders, such as cancer, noncancerous enlargement of the thyroid (goiter) and overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

Crazy huh? I meet with the Surgeon on Oct 18, but we could use your prayers for financial peace. We know this is going to be a costly operation, but we have to do it this year, especially since we have already met our deductible. This may be an in-patient procedure, so maybe some hospital visitors???
I will keep you posted!!

For now... Take a look at what I want to be for Halloween....

Would you pay $40 for a Halloween costume?????? I didn't buy it , but I love it......

I had trouble breathing at night, and it became hard to swallow. My neck started to swell up and I started having weight issues when I had never had them before. I wasn't sure what the problem was, but I could tell that there was one.
