Do you ever feel like you don't deserve God's Grace? I feel like this all of the time. Actually, this evening when I was praying, I praying for forgiveness and grace because so often I fall short. I know God doesn't expect me to be perfect because let's be real, we live in a fallen world, but I still don't want to disappoint God.
I have been reading this new book by Lisa Harper called "Stumbling into Grace." You may recognize as a featured speaker from Women of Faith. Stumbling into grace is a book that will give you a good laugh, will allow you to dig deep and have a better understanding of God's compassion towards his children. While I haven't completely finished this book(Shocker I know, this is meant to be a bible study, one of my favorite chapters is titled "Busyness isn't a spiritual gift."
I am a busy body. I am always on the Go! I am hard to get a hold of and hard to commit because I've already committed to ten thousand other things. God wants us to rest because he knows we get burned out when we keep burning the mid night oil. Rest is essential for the mind, body and soul. The gift of rest allows us to remain responsible to our jobs, families and friends, but also allows us to maintain inner peace and intimacy with God. In college my friends and I would take a day of rest from school work and work in general. We usually tried to take our day of "Rest" on sunday's. If we could not take the entire day, we would take a couple of hours and just enjoy the company of one another...
"Stumbling into Grace" is a bible/ devotional study that will take you through funny, difficult and deep reflection life moments, but will allow you to see God's grace in a more loving light.
