What I'm Reading: Departures

"Departures" is book of two stories between the famous Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen. I have always been a huge Christy Miller fan and have recently read all of the Sierra Jensen collection. "Now boarding Gate 10" is about Christy after she graduates from Highschool. The main part of the story sets place when Chirsty goes to Wisconsin to visit her family and celebrate her grandparents 50th wedding aniversary. Shortly later, she meets up with Matthew, her elementary crush. During this time, Christy spend a great deal of time reflecting on her relationships and her relationship with the Lord.

"In the Event of a Water Landing" is about Sierra summer vacations and as with anything, Sierra is always up for an adventure. Jana, Sierra's friend invites her to go along on a camping trip to Montana. Jana wants to spend a lot of time with the boys and really wants a boyfriend. Sierra just wants to hang out as friends. Their friendship is hindered by Jana's sudden interest in boys and relationships. Will their friendship stand Janna's romantic interest in boys? I would recommend this story to young tweens or teenagers.

I would recommend reading all of the Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen stories before reading this book or the reader may be confused. Excellent job Robin! Your books are always fantastic.

I second everything Sara says! I have read all of Robin's books starting with the Christy Miller Series, followed by the Sierra Jensen series, followed by Christy and Todd the College years! I think every young girl and even guys should read these! They gave me a great guideline for making life decisions! If you've read these, you must also read her series: The Glenbrook series! Smaller character's from her previous books become main characters in these ones! I can never get enough of Robin's books and if you can't tell - she is my favourite author!
