Storms pass through this Christmas Eve

For the past few years, I have had a very sick grandfather who has not been able to attend any family events, including my wedding. As you can imagine, it is very difficult for my family because he is so loved.  My uncle and aunt care for him in their home. Every Christmas Eve, we get together with my Mom’s side of the family for an evening of competitive games, delicious food and roars of laughter. You see my mother’s parents divorced when she was sixteen years old. I have never seen both my grandma and grandpa in the same room for as a long as I have lived. My grandma is not in the best of health and is not guaranteed many more Christmas Eve’s with my family.

My Aunt and Uncle pleaded my grandfather to come for Christmas Eve. After begging and promising him that they would leave when he was ready, he caved. He came over for Christmas Eve and it was such a blessing to not only see him, but watch him speak with my grandma. This Christmas Eve was one that I will remember for the rest of my life because I have never seen both of my Grandparents together.  It was a truly a magical evening.
