The Potential Job

Today I had a phone interview with a school in Michigan Center, which is in Jackson.. The phone interview went very well and they are asking me to come in for a second round of interviews.. The school social work position is between myself and another candidate. I ask that you would pray that God would lead them and myself to make the correct decision. This is a real job, with real benefits and summers paid..
Just thought I would share the awesome news!

This is real, this is me.. I am exactly where I am supposed to be..

I must apologize for the lack of updates. Last week was a very bad week and I did not really have a lot of postive things to say because I was feeling pretty down. I am very un happy with my place of unemployment and while I do not want to say anything bad, I feel that things have not been handled in a respectful manner and I cannot stay there anymore because my attitude is very dis-respectful and I do not want to carry that... It's not healthy, so I believe that I will be quitting whether a job is lined up or not.. Sometimes, you just have to do what is emotionally healthy....

On another note I have a school interview on Tuesday! Prayers are so much needed!! I need this one or I need it to go well because I am getting burned out on the job search!

On another note, I have had so much homework lately. It is getting to the middle of the semester where they pile on the work load.. It is getting very difficult to keep plugging away at it.. But I will keep going as long as the good Lord gives me the strength.....

I am ready to go on vacation or on a road trip... Wouldnt it be nice to go on vacation and not worry about the money.. It would be great to just spend on whatever I wanted, however i wanted too... Such as life..

Alright, well, I will try to update this more over the week... I cant wait to go visit some of my campers at I.T.C.

The Last Lecture

My open house was very nice.. It was great to see family and friends.. I love catching up and hearing about how people are doing.. It was great..

I am reading this book called the "Last Lecture" by Professor Carnegie Mellon. He is the professor that is giving his "last lecture" because he is dying of pancreatic cancer. .It has been all over the media. Anyways. .This book is great. .It is so gripping that I am not motivated to touch my homework at all, which is a bit unusual for me..
The book has been very moving for me and something that i found very interesting was this " You may not want to hear it, but your critics are often the ones tellyou you they still love you and care about you, and want to make you better". I just loved this quote and thought how true this really is.. So, next time someone is being critical, remember it's because they love you, but not because they are trying to hurt you!!

A new Job

Today, I took a new job, but I also quit that new job.. Funny eh?
Well, let me tell you the story.. The pay =$7.50 an hour.. and my degree is worth about $15.00+ an hour.. So, while, I really need the income, I dont need to kill myself with 25hrs a week at pages, 25hrs at this new job and 10 hours in classes.. I would have killed myself and while I wanted to earn more money, I see that is impossible until I find that "real job".. Prayers for a "real" 40hr job with benefits would be great!!
Thank you in advance!!

A devotion for the day..

Heaven’s calendar has seven Sundays a week. God sanctifies each day. He conducts
holy business at all hours and in all places. He uncommons the common by turning
kitchen sinks into shrines, caf├ęs into convents, and nine-to-five workdays into
spiritual adventures.

Workdays? Yes, workdays. He ordained your work as something good. Before he gave
Adam a wife or a child, even before he gave Adam britches, God gave Adam a job.
“Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate
it and keep it” (Gen. 2:15 NASB). Innocence, not indolence, characterized the
first family.

God views work worthy of its own engraved commandment: “You shall work six days,
but on the seventh day you shall rest” (Exod. 34:21 NASB). We like the second
half of that verse. But emphasis on the day of rest might cause us to miss the
command to work: “You shall work six days.” Whether you work at home or in the
marketplace, your work matters to God.

And your work matters to society. We need you! Cities need plumbers. Nations
need soldiers. Stoplights break. Bones break. We need people to repair the first
and set the second. Someone has to raise kids, raise cane, and manage the kids
who raise Cain.

Whether you log on or lace up for the day, you imitate God. Jehovah himself
worked for the first six days of creation. Jesus said, “My Father never stops
working, and so I keep working, too” (John 5:17 NCV). Your career consumes half
of your lifetime. Shouldn’t it broadcast God? Don’t those forty to sixty hours a
week belong to him as well?

The Bible never promotes workaholism or an addiction to employment as pain
medication. But God unilaterally calls all the physically able to till the
gardens he gives. God honors work. So honor God in your work. “There is nothing
better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good”
(Eccles. 2:24 NASB).

Here is the big idea:

Use your uniqueness (what you do)
to make a big deal out of God (why you do it)
every day of your life (where you do it).

At the convergence of all three, you’ll find the cure for the common life: your
sweet spot.

Today I was offered a postion working with senior citizens. I am unsure if I want the position.. The pay isn't great, but I would be working in my field.. The thing that bothers me is I know my passions and when I do not get a job in that particular area, I feel that I cannot provide the best care.. I dont know.. I am praying that I will make the right decision.. Prayers please!!

Major Update...

I have been really wanting to blog this past week, but it seems that everything else has taken priority.

Saturday- June 14th is my open house. If you're needing directions or for some reason did not recieve an invite, but would like to come, shoot me a message.

Sarah Rotman is engaged!! Just thought I would let that news out.. Yippie!!!

I have an interview tommorow with a senior home care place for seniors who need assisted living.. Not my ideal perfect job, but an interview and I am grateful for that!

My best friend Andrea is moving to the Dominician for two years to teach and has informed that plane tickets are relatively in expensive, so I may be going to the Dominican for Spring Break.. And hopefully, possibly going to Haiti.... Which would be faboulous...

I have lots of homework, exams and paper this week, plus I am trying to update my scrapbooks for my open house and working too.. It is going to be a busy week, but I wanted to give a quick update!!
Hope all is well and I miss everyone.
Take Care & God Bless..
