Goodwill Towards Men

Since I havent been able to do a whole lot because of the snow, I have been on a mad house to clean. I have gotten rid of so much junk. I have donated over eight black trash bags full of clothes and junk to goodwill. Today, I have two more bags waiting to go and even more by the end of this evening. I feel if I cannot go outside then I might as well be productive inside. This friday, I plan to paint my room, or at least touch up the walls.. We are getting another storm.. What is the point of doing anything outdoors? It is too cold!!

Gingerbread houses and Cranky Makers

I must say that last evening I was not the most pleasant gingerbread house maker. I have this tendancy to be very competitive. I was being some what of a debbie downer on others gingerbread houses. I must work on being more encouraging.. It was fun anyways and then it started snowing like crazy. Drew and I took Rachel to Chili's for some chips & salsa. Yum! Chili's is my favorite place.. They have the best salsa.. I highly recommend it and you can get free refills until you cannot eat anymore... It was a fun night. .We even watched part of WALLE!!!

Storming a Night Before Christmas

It is so fun to have toddlers running around in the family.. They are a blast and they copycat every word you say. It is great.. Love it... Bella was very fond of using the word "mine". Have an older brother and younger brother around has taught her the concept of her stuff.. It was cute.. She tried sharing her fake "muke" and "appo juice" with me.. It was very cute. Children always create such wonderful stories. Drew, my mom and I also went to a live Nativity Sunday. It was funny to hear the sheep "bah" and them mis-behave. The holiday offer such wonderful memories. I hope that you and your family have blessed holiday memories.

Here are a bunch of pictures from the Christmas party :)

Christmas Around the World!

Drew takes me out on all these exciting dates! It is a blast. Yesterday, Drew took me to Frederik Meijer Gardens to see Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World.

It was so neat to learn about Christmas Traditions from all around the world. The most interesting to me, was to learn about how Austrailia's Christmas is in the middle of the summer. Weird eh? I thought it was just neat to learn that.. In the middle of a hot blazing summer they celebrate Christmas... The concept is so different then from the states when we celebrate Christmas in the dead cold winter. Weird, but cool...

Something else that was so cool was the Baobab Tree from Africa. While I spent time in South Africa, I did see a lot of trees that were Baobab. It was neat to see a piece of Africa here in the states.. It may me miss part of something that I felt became my home.

We even met some reindeer :)

Sam & Katelyn

I have been having a ball with Sam and Katelyn. They are wonderful kids... We have had so much fun! I took their pictures with Santa hats. I am making a gift for their parents with some pictures.

Sam can already walk, but over the last few days Katelyn has been starting to walk. It is great to see her take her first few steps.. Watching children grow up is so neat.

Ho Ho Ho

Yesterday evening, I visted Santa for my second time. I know people don't like lying to their children and allowing them to believe in Santa. I understand people's feelings, but I had a great time visiting Santa today. It was the highlight to yesterdays evening...

It's Been Forever it seems...

I apologize for the lack of posts. With Thanksgiving and my final week of class, I am unsure where the time has gone. I hope everyone had a blessed thanksgiving. I am very excited for Christmas and even more excited for a new year.

Today, Drew graduated from Grand Valley. Although the weather was terrible, today served quite an accomplishment and Drew will now be on to a new milestone in his life. I am very proud of the work and dedication that he has to endure while working full time and going to school full time. He has done a wonderful job and I am extremely proud of him. Here are some photos of today.

A little birdie once told me.. Wait Until Love Finds you...

Today, I was able to spend a special day with my little bird! I cannot believe how mature she has become and she has grown into a beautiful, pure woman! I am extremely thankful and proud of her! Zach, welcome to the family! At first, it seemed a bit fast, but now, we know it was God's plan! I wish you both many blessings and I pray that God will protect your marriage!

Cake time!

She was beautiful!

I thought this captured a lovely picture!

This is for you andrea! Know that we deeply missed you today, but you were in our minds, hearts, and prayers!

Ps. Andrea, I think you should know that Katrina put Zachs ring on the wrong finger during the ceremony and she also screwed up some her marriage vows. It was quite and laugh and you would have enjoyed it! We miss you dear!

There was a trial, you made a mistake we know...

As many of you know social work involves a level of integrity, honesty and the view that justice must be served. I am extreme advocate for children and safety. I am an advocate for children in general, but my passion comes out in the safety of children.

Today, many of you know that I am on a court case from my bachelor level internship. During my internship, a little girl disclosed that her father was sexually abusing her. This case was being investigated and is in trial. I was supposed to testify today, but due to difficulties in the case, I was asked not to. However, the court will rejourn tomorrow and I may end up going to court tomorrow & testifying. I do not have a problem in doing so to protect this little girl.

I am extremely upset about how court went today. While I cannot public discuss what happened at court, I can say that people lied and will forever regret those lies and they do not understand the life altering implications the lies will have on their life. This family is in need of prayers, I am in need of prayers and I pray that God will bring justice to this family and to this little girl.

The Nanny

I am currently nannying 30 hrs a week and it has been such a joy. It has been incredibly theraputic for me to work with these children even though I am stressed once I leave. It is like I am on a mini-vacation for a while. Although, sometimes it is not a mini vacation, like yesterday, when Sam decided to throw up in my hair.. That was nice. .Or like when Katlyn likes to snot all over me with her yuckies.. However, it is wonderful. I have tried teaching them to pray or at least close their eyes when I pray with them, but they end up looking at me funny. I have had some fun times. I thought I should post some pictures! They just turned one on friday!

I love my brother! He is the best!!

Often, we like to look out the window. We are outside babies for sure and we hate that we have to be inside, so we are always watching to see what is happening out there!

Love the hat!

I hate my picture being taken!

I love birthday cup cakes! Yum!

50 years

Can you imagine being married 50 years? It is so unheard of today. I was blessed to be able to attend Drew's grandparents 50th anniversary renewal vow ceremony and party. It was such a blessing to see such a strong marriage withhold time. It definantely makes one believe in the impossible. I think it was great for his family even though the event was rather stressful and I almost slept through it, which is another story in its self, but it turned out wonderful.

3yrs

Today, is a historical day in our country, Drew and I celebrate three years, which is historical.. It has been challenging, rewarding and amazing!! I can't really describe the last three years, but it has been great!! Drew sent me a dozen roses today and I was chocked up.. The thought was so sweet and even though I will end up killing them, they were beautiful..

Our relationship has blossomed like a rose..
